All Hell Broke Lose Upon Pastor Osteen After He DID NOT OPEN Mega Church As Shelter During Harvey

Pastor Joel Osteen has faced enormous criticism these past few days for not opening the 17,000 seat Lakewood Church to help the locals, as the Huston area has seen record flooding as result of Hurricane Harvey.

The Lakewood Church was closed this weekend as Hurricane Harvey rained 24 inches of water on the Huston area. On Sunday, the Church tweeted a list of shelters available in the Huston area. Notable, Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church was not among the listing of shelters.

The Lakewood Church was not flooded during Harvey, but streets within a mile of the church were completely shut due to high water.

The Church is a converted NBA arena, former home of the Huston Rockets, and it's massive size maybe could have made a difference for people near by that seek shelter, wouldn't you say?

On Saturday, Pastor Osteen tweeted offering prayers to the victims of Hurricane Harvey, but people on social media thought the Pastor should have offered more than prayers. Joel Osteen, whose net worth is believed to be over $50 million, has been strongly criticized for not making any efforts or contributions to the recovery.

'Victoria and I are praying for everyone affected by Hurricane Harvey,' Pastor Osteen tweeted. 'Please join us as we pray for the safety of our Texas friends and family.'

This Monday, Pastor Osteen's Church responded by soliciting donations from the public and help collect and distribute infant and adult diapers, baby formula and baby food. 'We know that need is great' stated Lakewood Church.
