Kneeling Jaguar & Rams Players HORRIFIED By What They Saw Above Their Heads During Anthem Protest
Former NFL fans have protested in many different ways against the disrespect of the flag. Many people just stopped watching, some made a show out of burning their NFL gear or tickets and posted it on social media. But an inventive boycotter just came up with the most brilliant idea.
This man had and idea and the means to do it, and since this is a free country that is exactly what he did. Terry Smiley from Jacksonville is this man that got upset about how his team acted and decided to tell them with giant letter in the sky.
Action News Jax has reported that Terry Smiley hired a pilot to pull a big banner that encouraged fellow Jacksonvillians to boycott the team:
A man from Green Cove Springs took his issues with the Jacksonville Jaguars and the NFL to the sky on Sunday.
Terry Smiley had the message printed on a banner that was flown above EverBank Field before the Jacksonville Jaguars’ game against the Los Angeles Rams.
'I am asking people to boycott the football games. I don’t watch it on TV' said Smiley.
'People need to realize the true message that they’re trying to send' said Jay Crossman, Jaguars fan.
If there were going to be a price for the most creative and dedicated man to the boycott, this guy should definitely get it. He invested his own money just to send a message to the fans and players over their heads so they could see it. An American who puts his money where his mouth is, and obviously, he is making a lot of waves.
Smiley is not only trying to get some heat to the boycott, he also has a few questions for the players:
'Do you believe in your country? Do you believe in ‘The Star-Spangle Banner?’ If you don’t stand up for it now, you won’t have it in the future,' he said.
As a former Jaguars fan, Smiley paid a pilot to fly his banner message over the stadium for two hours so all players kneeling can see his protest.
'I have the right to protest and I’m going to protest it with bumper stickers, airplanes – whatever I go to do. I will continue to protest,' he added.
This guy has every right to protest just like they do. But he is spending his own money to do it, unlike the players that are actually spending our dollars, as costumers, and protest against us.
This incredible message that Smiley sent to the Jaguars is something that many of us imagined to do for a long time. Our hard work dollars are not going in the pockets of the people who flip off the American flag. Smiley found a perfect way to hit back, and if you are glad he did, then share this post everywhere so his story gets out.
